Sausage Fest Comedy Show Recap !!

This past Tuesday, we completed our much hyped and anticipated comedy show, "Sausage Fest Comedy Show" , at Club OMG in San Francisco.

We did a successful Beefcake comedy show a couple years ago in the same vein so I knew this one was going to be just as good if not better!

My hat goes off to all of our performers, everyone was great!

I really don't think everyone knew how much difficulty went into planning this show, from trying to book different guys and getting rejected because of the shows nature, working with different social websites and trying to drum up great press, figuring put the logistics of the show so that everything could run smoothly.

I'm just really thankful everything fell together!

Here are some of my favorite photos from the night, enjoy!

Ass Kicking Time !!!!

I did it, I ran 40 miles this month! Last Fall I remember talking to my nutritionist and when he suggested that I start running 5x a week, I just about laughed in his face because I did not think I could do it. I will not accept being a pre-diabetic, especially if I can do something about it! I feel good, have a great weekend everybody! #fuckyoudiabetes

The Essence of the Hella Gay Comedy Show

Hey all, as some of you may or may not know, I produce a comedy series in the Bay Area called the, "Hella Gay Comedy Show" .  This show features LGBT and LGBT friendly stand up comedians in gay themed shows.

In short, I create whacky gay theme shows for everyone to take part in because, well its fun.  The word gay means happy and the last time I checked, that definition precludes into everyones lives.

The first big misconception about Hella Gay Comedy is that it strictly offers a gay sexual orientation comedy line up and it does not.  As I stated above, everyone is welcome to perform on the show.

We do get gay separatist audience members who come to our shows and expect to see an all gay line up and to that I say, not all the time. I have always said the Hella Gay Comedy Shows aren't separatist supported, we have done the occasional all Lesbian and all gay line ups but for the most part, I really do try to include everyone.  And plus, I always state in my show write ups whose going to be on the show!

Another main reason why I include hetero performers, the truth be known, there really aren't that many gay stand up comedians in the Bay Area, so to save our audiences from seeing the same ole people time and time again, I've had to fabricate many gay performers.

Last year we did the, "Gay for Pay Comedy Show" , which featured straight comedians doing gay comedy and it turned out brilliant.  The tough part about casting that line up, not every straight guy comedian I approached was down for the show.  A lot of them were hesitant because the show idea was too out there and no one really knew what to expect, not to mention any associated stigma from their peer groups for doing a gay themed comedy show.  Luckily, we had several straight guys in our comedy community who were willing to take the risk and try something new.  The end result was fabulous and it turned out to be one of our top 5 Hella Gay shows of all time.

For 2014, I wanted to do another stud show but what?

In the comedy world, straight men comedians rule the stages.  The ratio for male comedians to female comedians is 7/1.  So for whatever reason, more straight men are drawn to public speaking and making asses of themselves more than anybody else, so I thought, "how I could I use this fact to my advantage and viola" !!

And thats when the Sausage Fest Comedy Show was born!

If the people want Sausage, even at the sub conscience level, then lets fucking give them sausage but with a twist!

But I'm not just going to do any all straight male comedy show, so thats when the idea to have them tell jokes without theirs shirts came up!  I know, hot right?!

Now dig this, ever since I announced this show, their have been several straight guy comedians in the comedy community who have been dogging me out because they think its silly to see the hetero male objectified.  Please.  What fucking hypocrites.  These dick wads have the nerve to say I'm objectifying male hetero men when they're the main ones dogging out women, gays, disabled and whoever else in their acts for the sake of a joke.

I honestly think these muthaf*cka's are just mad because I didn't ask them to be on the show.

But whatev's, I digress.

Many years down the road, all of our Hella Gay performers will look back at these shows and smile because they know they did some really cool ass shit.

In the mean time, I hope to see everyone at our next show!

Looking Season 1 Episode 8

P-R-E-D-I-C-T-A-B-L-E

On the season finale of HBO's, "Looking", Patrick pretty much did exactly what I said he was gonna do when I started blogging about this show back in January and it was that hes gonna kick his Mexican boyfriend to the curb and fuck his English boss.  And wasn't Patrick, the supposed top, saving his asshole for his Mexican boyfriend?  Did anyone else notice how easily Patrick gave it up after a silly argument with his boyfriend.  At the end of the series, Patrick cried because Richie said he wasn't ready to be in a relationship with him but I think Patrick was crying because his ass still hurt after getting fucked by his big wanker boss Kevin.  Ouch.

The writing on this show has improve.  I honestly think, "Looking" , was renewed for another season because it has potential and if that potential doesn't shine thru quick, well, what a complete fuckin waste of our time.

With that being said, I wanted to go over some key notes of this production:

1) cute gay actors don't necessarily mean this show was going to be a run-a-way hit.

2) I loved how this show incorporated San Francisco culture that is unique to our area such as, the communal table seating at Dom's restaurant which is very SF, the use of Uber, a ride sharing service that is replacing the modern day taxi in SF, and when Patrick got a ticket for not turning his wheels in when parked on a slope, thats very SF!

Speaking as a Bay Area resident, most of the tech industry thats been moving in and destroying our city's culture are boring and not doing anything to keep our community fun and vibrant.

3) The main thing I got from the first season is that gay white men can pretty much fuckin get away with anything they want.  I mean really, if our gay writers are going to keep perpetrating this stereotype, than why not take it further.  I'm sure theres more truly horrendous activities they could think of if their writing group is trying to attract more viewers.

Amazingly with all the ethnic culture out in SF, these 3 characters below are supposed to represent us the most, I don't fucking think so.

Until next season, I'll be patiently holding my breath waiting for the first episode to start, not.

Looking Season 1 Episode 7

Bravo Bitches!  Bravo Bitches!

Finally an episode that was so well put together, it was undeniably good.

Lets get right to the juicy part that won my mom over, yes, my mom actually watched tonights episode with me.  "Looking" , probably isn't the best family show for everyone to get together and gab over popcorn because the gay sex scenes are pretty over the top, but still, its not like we haven't seen worse in straight cinema.

So lets get to the part that made my mom chuckle, it was when Patrick was fessing up to his mother that the reason why he never brings any of his boyfriends to meet her is because he judges his boyfriends on what his mom is going to think about them and its really fucking him up.  And when my mom heard that, she busted out laughing.

I couldn't help but wonder if my mom was laughing because she thought I was the same way.

Not true, I would totally introduce my mom to any of my boyfriends but the reason why I never found a boyfriend to introduce her to was because I never ever found a man good enough for me.

Word.
